 ‘CityFeast: Dining Out to Conquer Diabetes’ Benefiting
Joslin Diabetes Center set for Sunday, Jan. 27, in Boston

Popular North End restaurants – Antico Forno, Lucca, Prezza, Taranta, Terramia and Tresca – among participants

 

WHAT:          The North End’s most celebrated chefs will participate in this year’s CityFeast – Dining Out to Conquer Diabetes on Sunday, Jan. 27.  Participating restaurants – Antico Forno, Lucca, Prezza, Taranta, Terramia and Tresca will serve guests a sumptuous five-course meal featuring specialties of the house and the perfect wine pairing for each entrée.  The cost is $150 per person (of which $100 is tax deductible) and includes all food, wine pairings and discounted parking at the Cooper Street Parking Lot or the Parcel 7 garage above the Haymarket T station.  To reserve seats, please call 617.732.2513 or 1.888.JOSLIN.2.  All proceeds from the evening will benefit the High Hopes Fund at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.

 

Carla Gomes, the mother of a child with diabetes and owner of both Antico Forno and Terramia, founded the event to help raise awareness of the disease and support Joslin Diabetes Center’s mission of conquering diabetes in all of its forms.

 

WHY:            An astounding 20.8 million people in the United States have diabetes.  This is an epidemic that crosses all ages, economic levels and races, affecting many adults and children.  As the cost and incidence of diabetes continue to increase, Joslin Diabetes Center is the one hope for a world without this disease.  Joslin, the world’s largest diabetes research center, diabetes clinic and provider of diabetes education, will continue to meet the ever-changing challenges of diabetes until it realizes its mission of a world without diabetes.
